Remember those South Pacific vacations with this nostalgic monkey hand-carved from a coconut and combined with the tropical sounds of hand-tuned bamboo chimes. Replicated after the popular souvenir items typical of 1960s Hawaiian vacations, each coconut monkey figure has slightly different features as dictated by the size and shape of the coconut. Copyrighted by Asli Arts, the Monkey Bamboo Chime measures approximately 33" in total length and the monkey figure typically measures 8" x 8" (as dictated by the coconut!). Made in Bali. Every chime features the mellow, earth-inspired tones unique to resonating bamboo tubes. Each chime is hand-tuned by a trained artist-musician who whittles each tube to the perfect pitch, repeatedly tapping each bamboo tube as he carves until the sound is just right.
